A s the VR industry evolves and becomes more possible in virtual environments, training in VR will become more commonplace. While VR training is not yet a widespread approach to employee training, it is likely to infiltrate other industries. A number of companies are beginning to see the benefits of VR as it continues to grow and has the potential to change the way we learn.

Many companies around the world use VR to train their employees for greater effectiveness and efficiency. By providing immersive simulated scenarios to better prepare employees for the role, the possibilities of VR training are endless. The first experiments include the development of training programs that immerse employees in rich learning experiences. US retailer Walmart is using VR on a large scale to train store staff on how to interact with customers.

Another advantage of using VR for company training is that in situations where it is safe to make mistakes and learn from them, the performance of a doctorate student can be monitored, measured, and evaluated in real life after adjustments have been made. for other employees, especially those in charge of sensitive or critical operations, VR training can be an important tool to reduce errors and liability. employees are able to learn from mistakes in the virtual world, which reduces the likelihood that someone will make the same mistake in real world, where they may lose their lives.

„Research by PWC found that employees learned soft skills four times faster in class, were 27.5% more confident in applying skills, and focused 4x more on their e-learning colleagues”

While personal learning sites were on hold during the pandemic, more and more organizations are turning to VR training because it is more affordable and has proven to teach employees to work more effectively. Instead of reserving training courses that involve occupational safety or high stakes scenarios, such as learning to operate or fly an aircraft, VR simulations can be used to teach soft skills, promote diversity, equality and inclusion and teach the practice in dealing with difficult conversations in the workplace. the training is also adept at generating the kind of emotional impact on learners that can lead to prolonged behavioral and mentality changes, experts say.

One way to evaluate the effectiveness of VR training is to conduct a competence evaluation after the VR session. For example, one hospital offered VR training to help its staff master insertion skills, and then used a post-training evaluation to demonstrate that their skills had been improved after training.

Another study explored the impact of VR on the training of new PWC managers in inclusive leadership skills. the evaluation results showed that VR training was the most effective training method for improving learners „confidence and teaching laboratory skills. A PWC study found that employees trained in VR were four times faster at getting up to speed than classroom learners and twice as fast as e-learners.

Last but not least, both employees and employers can benefit from VR training in the workplace. From public lectures and medical interventions to training for dangerous situations, VR offers a realistic and safe training environment for employees. While there are initial costs, managers can achieve long-term cost reductions and ROI in terms of engagement, security and retention through training in VR.

Staff training is one of the areas that could benefit most from the immersive revolution. More recently, BP has used virtual reality to train its employees in start-up and emergency exit processes at its Hull refinery in England.

Employees have the task of providing feedback to teammates, leading meetings and dealing with difficult managers. they are able to learn from mistakes made in virtual reality, which reduces the likelihood that someone will make the same mistake in the real world, where it could cost their life. research by PWC found that employees learned soft skills four times faster in class, were 27.5% more confident in applying skills, and focused four times more on their e-learning colleagues.

In recent years, when the cost of using VR has dramatically dropped and technology has been widely used by fortune 500 companies, employees in industries such as retail, logistics, and customer service have been utilizing VR headsets to improve their workplaces

Remote training is another notable advantage of using VR to train large workforces, as it can be done remotely. instead of flying the entire team to a single location at an enormous cost, VR allows employees from around the world to have the same immersive training experience. In addition, the training experiences of the employees are identical, in contrast to different teams, which receive different training programs for different people.

Virtual reality training (VR) has the power to revolutionize the corporate world. Virtual reality training can bring numerous benefits for your employees in terms of professional development and motivation. Together with improved efficiency, reduced downtime and potential cost savings, VR training is a fantastic tool to support companies committed to long-term success.

As we learn to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment based on the challenges of the workforce and face the long-term impact of covid-19, a strong and reliable competence-base has never been more important.  This kind of training is an immersive learning experience that recreates real environments and simulates work challenges. It gives workers the opportunity to receive on-the-job training in a risk-free environment where they can learn by doing so. to get to the basics.   While virtual environments can be used to train users to perform tasks and procedures in the real world, it is important to compare training in real-world to VR-based training.
